About this author page
Isabella Ward writes and edits the guides on this site. The name is a pen name. We use it so the guides have a consistent, accountable byline without listing personal details or credentials we cannot show you. Judge the guides by their sources and reasoning, which are always visible.
What Isabella writes about
- Rendering strategies: server rendering, static generation, client rendering, streaming, partial prerendering and islands.
- Hydration: what it costs, how to measure it and how frameworks reduce it.
- Responsiveness: Interaction to Next Paint, long tasks, Long Animation Frames and scheduling.
- Framework behaviour in React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, Angular, Svelte and Astro.
- Field measurement: real-user monitoring and reading Core Web Vitals correctly.
How the guides are prepared
Each guide starts from primary sources: web.dev and Chrome for Developers for metrics and browser APIs, and each framework's own documentation and release notes for framework behaviour. Secondary and commercial sources are labelled as such. Code samples are kept short and follow the documented APIs they illustrate. Each guide carries its last-updated date, and corrections follow the editorial policy.
